  The Port of Tilbury, London’s major port, has completed its preliminary community consultation events this month which sought views on its proposals to build a new port terminal adjacent to the current port. Freight forwarders risk losing custom by playing generic music on hold

Freight forwarders’ call handling standards have come into question as the result of a major new study into telephone practice. The research conducted by audio branding specialist PHMG, which audited 476 firms in the freight forwarding trade, discovered the large majority risk losing custom by subjecting customers to generic music and audio while on hold. Typically, waiting on hold is seen as a major bugbear but 59 per cent of freight forwarders still leave customers listening to nothing but generic music. Kracht selects Jungheinrich to centralise its intralogistics

Kracht, a global manufacturer of gear pumps, flow pumps and hydraulic components, has commissioned Jungheinrich to build a 3,500m² logistics centre at its headquarters in Werdohl, Germany.   Scheduled for completion in May/June 2017 and costing approximately 7.8 million Euro, the new centre will consist of a fully automated high rack warehouse for 5,100 Euro pallets and 12,000 small parts bins.
