Ambrey Baker bolsters leadership team with key appointment
Engineering industry expert joins growing firm
Ambrey Baker, a leading provider of turnkey construction solutions in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical, storage and retail sectors, has appointed Paul Waldeck as executive director to further build on its recent success.
This national business, which specialises in temperature-controlled and high-care storage spaces, such as chilled and frozen units, has worked with clients such as Tesco, XPO and Holland & Barrett.
The company has seen a recent surge in new business enquiries due to various factors, including the rise of e-commerce shopping trends resulting from the COVID-19 lockdown.
As executive director, and co-owner, Paul Waldeck will leverage his vast experience and in-depth industry expertise to help optimise the Ambrey Baker customer experience. That is a turnkey journey from feasibility studies, site appraisals, business case, financing and contracts, into construction delivery services and commissioning. The business undertakes new builds, extensions, remodelling and conversion projects.
Paul’s impressive career began more than 35 years ago, when he started out in the FMCG and logistics sectors before becoming a chartered engineer and founding Waldeck Consulting, an award-winning architecture, engineering and construction management firm.
He nurtured this business from the ground up, facilitated the purchase of two more firms and developed a global presence over those 25 years before the company was acquired in 2018. At that point, Waldeck was a trusted advisor to many blue chip businesses.
Reg Baker, founder of Ambrey Baker, said: “To underpin our growth strategy, we’re continuing to focus on hiring and nurturing the very best talent to help our customers access high-quality turnkey solutions, and in turn, transform business outcomes.
“Paul brings unrivalled industry knowledge, plus his crucial connectivity and reach will play a key role in helping us to reach new heights as a company – especially, as we continue to provide innovative efficient storage solutions to a growing client base.”
Paul Waldeck added: “Ambrey Baker has developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality cold storage solutions to various industries, so it really is an exciting time to be joining the company as co-owner with Reg, as we now focus on enhancing the business’s existing offerings as part of our ambitious growth plans.”
