Wincanton Wins Training Team Of The Year At Talent In Logistics Awards 2018.
Wincanton Health, Safety, Driver Training & Development Team (Co-Op Contract) was named Training Team of the Year at the Talent in Logistics Awards 2018. The Award was presented by special guest host Jeff Stelling, presenter of Gillette Soccer Saturday and live football and Award Sponsor, Culina Group.
“The team from Wincanton has shown its commitment to continuously improve and strive for ‘best practice’ within the company, and to promote its industry leader status,” says Ruth Edwards, Talent in Logistics Event Manager.
Building on the key foundations established at the Lea Green RDC, both the Training & Development and the Health & Safety teams intend to be a driving force for the forthcoming 5-year contract. Each of these departments is committed in their endeavour to continuously improve and strive for “best practice” within Wincanton and promoting its industry leader status. Further to this, in 2016 a joint venture between the two departments was proposed as beneficial, with a view of producing one multi skilled team. With their passion and commitment, it is their vision to establish Coop Lea Green RDC as a contractual Wincanton leader in Health, Safety, Driver Training and Development.
Dean Clamp, HSEQ Director at Wincanton, says: “We’re delighted Wincanton has been recognised with such a prestigious award. The safety of our people, our clients and the public is our number one priority. The team’s dedication is reflected in their constant search for innovative new ways of getting their message across using new technologies like virtual reality and in the results they produce – a safer, more committed workforce collaborating to deliver an excellent service.”
The Talent in Logistics Awards was created to celebrate professionals at every level of learning and development, and reward those who are inspiring the next generation of logistics and transport talent.
On Thursday 21st June 2018, logistics professionals attended the awards ceremony at the Telford International Centre, to recognise and celebrate talented individuals from across the sector. There were 16 worthy winners, from trainers, instructors and Learning and Development (L&D) Managers, to LGV drivers and apprentices, HR Managers and Transport Managers.
A list of all the winners can be found at http://www.talentinlogistics.co.uk/2018-winners/ .
“Health, safety, training and development are at the heart of Talent in Logistics, and this multi-skilled team covering all departments deserves recognition for its commitment and serves as a great example to the industry,” adds Ruth.
Event organisers have announced the next Talent in Logistics event, which includes the annual Awards and also a daytime conference, to take place on 27th June 2019 at Arena MK in Milton Keynes.
